Musala Soft co-organizer and sponsor of the 20th Republican Student Olympiad for Programming     (българска версия)

The 20th Republican Student Olympiad for Programming took place on 9th and 10th of May. This year's anniversary competition was under the patronage of Professor Ivan Soskov, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Sofia University and with the partnership of Musala Soft. 31 three-member teams, from thirteen Bulgarian Universities, participated in the event.

First ranked a team of the Sofia University, comprised by Vasil Liutzkanov, Iskren Chernev and Preslav Le, with tutors Miloslav Sredkov and Professor Krasimir Manev. Sofia University also took first place in the overall University standing, followed by the Shumen University "Bishop Konstantin Preslavski" and the Rousse University "Angel Kunchev", which took respectively 2nd and 3rd place.

The Republican Student Olympiad for Programming originated in the 1980s. After the political changes in 1989, the Olympiad stopped its existence. In year 1998, a group of enthusiasts together with the American University in Bulgaria started the so called Interuniversity Programming Tournament. In 2004, after seven editions, the name was unanimously changed to Republican Student Olympiad for Programming.

Musala Soft was the main sponsor of the event and host of the cocktail-party, which followed the award ceremony, in the elite "Upstairs" metropolitan club.

Elena Marinova, President of Musala Soft greeted the students and explained that for the company is a great pleasure to support the Student Programming Olympiad, as well as other initiatives, which stimulate the innovation skills.
