On October 13th, 2017 the new season 2017/2018 of the international programming contest CodeIT will begin. The contest is organized by Musala Soft and the upcoming edition is 18th in a row.
CodeIT (http://codeit.bg/) is among the oldest programming contests in the world and the most prestigious private programming contest in Bulgaria. Traditionally, it is being held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria. An honorary member of the jury, this year also a patron of the first round of CodeIT, will be Prof. Krassimir Manev, President of the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI, 2014-2017) and a President of the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (eJOI).
At the final round in Sofia, a popular IT guru will attend to share his valuable experience and advice with the young talents. In May 2018, the best contestants in CodeIT will meet Ivan Katanich from Croatia, who has been participating in many international programming contests and has a gold medal of IOI and two silver medals of ACM ICPC. Ivan Katanich is focused on machine learning and blockchain technologies.
The first round of CodeIT (Marathon) is starting on October 13th, 2017 at 20:00h and will last for three weeks. The contestants will have to solve one task reaching to its most optimal solution compared to the other participants. Everyone will have the opportunity to modify and upgrade their solution throughout the whole round. In the new season of CodeIT, all contestants with a positive result will receive gifts, and the contestants with the best results will get special prizes provided by the sponsors.
The website of CodeIT (www.codeit.bg) has been revamped, is now active and ready for the new edition of the contest. Season 2017/2018 will also have a new symbol – the tiny fox known to everyone with its cunning and the ability to quickly find a solution in every situation.
The international programming contest CodeIT is one of the longest lasting initiatives of Musala Soft, part of the corporate social responsibility program of the company and the strategy to encourage everyone interested in algorithms, programming and information technologies. Musala Soft believes that the quality and efficient education and the creation of opportunities for the young talents to excel and demonstrate their knowledge and skills encourage their aspiration for development and contribute substantially for the better future of the software industry.
The successful and sustainable fulfillment of CodeIT so far is attributed to CSLab, the team at Musala Soft which through the years has gathered some of the brightest minds in competitive programming, thanks to whom Bulgaria is currently among the 5 leading countries in the world with over 100 medals from contests in informatics. Among the newest members of the team are Alexander Stanev and Encho Mishinev, holding 7th position in the chart of the Top 100 programmers in the world.
