With an official ceremony at 13:30h today in Burgas, the first Professional High School in Computer Programming and Innovations was open.
The students, their parents and the official guests were welcomed by the director of the high school and were greeted by two humanoid robots for which Musala Soft develops software.
Musala Soft is among the companies members of the school councils and will actively participate in the planning of all activities related to the curriculum and the development of the educational institution, as well as the creation of opportunities for professional and career advancement in the field of information technologies for the high school graduates.
The ceremony was attended by Boyko Borissov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Krassimir Valchev, Minter of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria, Dimitar Nikolov, Mayor of Burgas Minicipality, Dimitrina Todorova, Director of the high school, members of parliament from Burgas, as well as guests from the business and non-government organizations, partners of the new professional high school.
“Such school is rarely seen even in Western countries. It has own training firm and school council, members of which are the biggest and most successful software companies according to IT business charts”, said in his speech during the ceremony the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria.
“I am thankful for the support to the government authorities for the timely handing of all administrative issues because exactly 9 months ago I met with the Prime Minister and explained our concept – to create a new school for technologies of the future and today we are here in front of the newest technological campus in Bulgaria. Children from Burgas, Sofia, Shumen, Dobrich, Varna and other Bulgarian cities will study here. I would like to thank to all IT companies partners of this project. With their support, the student will study Cloud Technologies, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain Technologies and Cybersecurity“, said Krassimir Valchev, Minister of Education and Science during the official opening.
Dimitrina Todorova, Director of the IT high school welcomed all guests and shared more about the equipment and the facilities at the high school. She explained that the laboratory of the specialized high school is equipped with enterprise training robots and own humanoid robot /model “Pepper”/. Every classroom will have touchscreen displays with two operating systems – Android and Windows. The students will use digital textbooks and a digital platform developed by the best technology companies in the world – Microsoft and Google, combined with a safe virtual learning environment for every student with individual access. Apart from computer science, English classes will be a basic part of the curriculum.
“We are happy to be part of this exciting endeavor and to join efforts with Burgas Municipality and the other partners of the project to create the necessary conditions for the talented young people in the region to develop their knowledge and skills in the field of high technologies and innovations. We strongly believe that the quality early education in information technologies has a key role for the kids to be well prepared for the jobs of the future“, said Elena Marinova, President of Musala Soft on the occasion of the high school opening.
